Communities of Practice: Strengthening Data Literacy Among Higher Education Stakeholders Round Two

SHEEO held a Communities of Practice convening on Nov. 6-7, 2025, in Nashville, TN. The Communities of Practice convenings are a valuable opportunity for states to connect with their peers and reflect in-depth on the capacities, uses, barriers, and opportunities of their data systems. This two-day convening provided state policymakers, data practitioners, and researchers, time to explore practical strategies and tools for strengthening data literacy and transforming data into actionable insights. Through the convening, state teams built ongoing knowledge and action networks to share best practices, discuss shared experiences, and collaborate on strategies and solutions with their counterparts in other states.

SHEEO hosted a Communities of Practice on this same topic back in May. Due to its high demand, a second event was offered.
