Ellen Bryer is an academic year IES predoctoral fellow at SHEEO during the 2022-23 academic year. In this role, Ellen is supporting SHEEO’s work on FAFSA simplification, direct admissions policies, and the effects of college closures while developing quantitative analysis skills. She is a doctoral student in Sociology and an IES predoctoral fellow at the University of Pennsylvania. Her research focuses on graduate education, student debt, and economic disparities in young adulthood. In previous roles, Ellen has worked for an evaluation firm in Philadelphia, PA and was an Americorps college and career counselor for high school students. She earned her B.A. in Sociology from Smith College.
