Communities of Practice: Defining and Measuring Postsecondary Value and Return on Investment

SHEEO will hold the next in an ongoing series of Communities of Practice convenings on October 22-23, 2024, in Minneapolis, MN. This two-day convening provides state policymakers, data practitioners, and researchers, time to explore practical uses of postsecondary data systems in measuring and articulating postsecondary value and return on investment (ROI). Through the convening, state teams will build ongoing knowledge and action networks to discuss best practices and shared experiences and to workshop strategies and solutions with their counterparts in other states. 

The Community of Practice will explore topics such as: 

• Developing shared metrics and goals related to postsecondary value and ROI. 
• Defining and building connections between economic and non-economic postsecondary value and ROI measures. 
• Understanding the levers and barriers for measuring postsecondary value and ROI. 
• Using disaggregated data to inform value and ROI measures and communication. 
• Communicating postsecondary value and ROI data and associated efforts, outcomes, and successes to stakeholders. 
• Articulating technical assistance needs to improve postsecondary value and ROI measurement and communication.
