The MSC was conceived as a model for valid assessment of authentic student work based on five years of development and refinement. From 2014-2018, the State Higher Education Executive Officers Association (SHEEO) and several of its member organizations collaborated with AAC&U in this project to develop a process for valid assessment of authentic student work using the AAC&U VALUE rubrics. Effective January 2019, all VALUE programs and activity are under the umbrella of the AAC&U VALUE Institute.
