Currently, Gus is a Ph.D student at the University of Pennsylvania studying higher education and data analytics. His research interests include access and persistence for underrepresented students. Additionally, he is also interested in higher education funding and student debt. Prior to his doctoral studies, Gus worked at the Tennessee Board of Regents studying adult students’ success across the state.

Gus earned his bachelor’s degree in economics from Colby College and his master’s in public policy from Vanderbilt University.
