Community of Practice on Work-Based Learning

SHEEO and Strada Education Foundation will host a Community of Practice on Work-Based Learning in Washington, D.C., on March 10-11, 2026. This in-person convening will be focused on strengthening state workforce alignment strategies through work-based learning.

With generous support from Strada, SHEEO is inviting delegations of state higher education executive officers, along with a key workforce alignment team member from up to 20 states and systems, to exchange policy developments on work-based learning evidence and solutions to support improved career pathway opportunities for students.

Our convening is designed as a strategy accelerator for state teams committed to connecting education to economic mobility through the practice of work-based learning. Over two days, we will move from the “what” to the “how,” grounded in fresh evidence from Strada’s 2025 State Opportunity Index.
